Current Projects
SUSTAINABILITY IN THE FILM INDUSTRY
Green Boxes Consulting is working with Earth Angel Sustainable Production Services and other film industry professionals to share our knowledge and understanding of sustainability and its applicability to the world of television and movie productions.
GREEN BOXES PRODUCTIONS/THE DO MORE GOOD PROJECT
GBC sees creative and social media as some of the biggest tools for sharing knowledge and inspiring interest in the causes we care about. We are currently in the early stages of a project that links our media production skills with our expertise in sustainability and social responsibility. We will be producing a number of videos that address sustainability as a lifestyle as well as call attention to the range of work happening in the space and advocate for others to "DO MORE GOOD."
Past Projects and Reports
Though Green Boxes Consulting is a relatively new firm, our team has experience outside of GBC working on a number of projects and reports. Here is a sampling of some of our work.
Expanding Transportation Opportunities on Hawai'i Island
Residents of Hawai`i Island pay some of the highest rates for electricity and petroleum products among residents of the United States. Moreover, the islands of the Hawaiian archipelago rely almost entirely on imported petroleum fuels for both transportation and energy generation. Though Hawai`i Island has integrated more renewable energy onto its electrical grid than anywhere else in the U.S., the reliance on fossil fuel remains high because more than half the energy demand of the island can be attributed to transportation. The primary objective of the project was to develop a set of recommendations for the County of Hawai`i focused on high-impact solutions to reduce fossil fuel use in the island’s ground transportation system, while improving accessibility and lowering travel times for commuters.
Eco-Tourism Marketing Plan for the Burren, A UNESCO Geo-Park in Western Ireland
The Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark in northwest County Clare, Ireland, possesses unique natural, cultural, and historical assets that travelers interested in ecotourism typically seek in a destination. Although the Geopark contains numerous components that are essential to creating an established ecotourism destination, the area has not been able to successfully attract tourists who stay for multiple days and nights. The primary objective of this project was to develop a strategic plan for the Geopark’s primary stakeholder organizations, the Burren Connect Project and the Burren Ecotourism Network, to stimulate ecotourism in the Burren region, in an environmentally, socially, and financially sustainable manner over the next five to ten years.
